I think I had a pretty good costume for Halloween this year.
Ok, ok.
I admit, the real Elliott looks a little better than I did. Even in his 400x300 pixel glory.
But, he had Spielberg effects and preteen good looks.
My effects budget was limited to rush shipping from Universal Studios and a $45 American Apparel hoodie.
I've gotten a lot of use out of the hoodie already. Obviously. It's cold outside, and it's a hoodie.
On the other hand, ET is still in Ryanne's CR-V, going on about five days in extended parking at the airport. I'm sure he's pissed off and cold. My intergalactic buddy will be phoning home to Seven Fields tomorrow night.
It's a bummer fall has come and gone so quick, this year. Next weekend is The Onion Ride, and the following weekend is Lit Up Night. This will definitely prove to be blog-worthy content, assuming I survive.
As for now, I have a hankering for Reese's Pieces and a sudden urge to hide amongst a bunch of stuffed animals. So while I go bury myself next to Teddy Ruxpin, here are some of the very few photos I snapped at the party.

November. The Month of Colds.
I usually spend the first few weeks of November doing night rides in chilly weather, running outside, and getting inadequate sleep. The quality of my immune system begins a slow downward spiral until mid-month, when it suddenly crashes and burns at Light Up Night in Pittsburgh. Riding bicycles strewn with Christmas lights through the city at 1:00am and dancing around hundreds of people is a guaranteed quick start to the annual week of misery.
This year, thanks to the Halloween party last weekend, I'm a couple weeks ahead of schedule. Lucky for me, I have a few friends.
Speaking of the party - it went really well. Many great friends and good foods. Thankful to everyone who made the trip and even more thankful they made it to where they were going next. Love 'em all. Especially Big Cat.

Morning Rush
I woke up ten minutes earlier than usual today. For some reason, I was still rushed to get out. Maybe it was the two five-gallon kegs I needed to drag out of my basement.
I'm heading up to Jason's after work to help with a few last minute things. He always puts so much into everything he does, so the least I can do is reduce his expense on getting someone plastered.
Despite all this, I somehow hit a warp zone and made it to work fifteen minutes earlier. Now that I'm here, I find that my box of green tea is empty and someone took all my Bic G-2's. Time to raid the supply room. Unfortunately, though, I don't think the gas station across the street carries Celestial Seasonings...

Costume Change-Up
Fall has pretty much come and gone. As usual, it was short-lived, but enjoyable nonetheless.
I'll be blunt. I'm looking for a place where it is fall like 80-100% of the year. I want to experience a transitional season that doesn't transition. Colorful leaves on the brink of death that don't die. Hay rides and haunted houses, pumpkins that grow year 'round. Point me to this place, and I'll be there.
While I continue to dream, reality calls to remind me that Halloween is in a couple days, and Jason's throwing a big party at his house this weekend. Two weeks ago, I was in costume crunch mode and decided to clean shave for the first time in six years and go as Justin Bieber. Definitely a hard right turn from my yearly ritual going as my alter-ego, "Kurt".
But, after more thought...I decided against the Biebs. Sorry, Justin. I've found something better. Now, I'm just waiting for the rest of my new costume pieces to come in.
In the meantime, I got home from work to find Justin's kicks in a package on my doorstep.
Unfortunately, I didn't get a picture of the white studded pyramid belt and Neff watch that got shipped to my work. I think the Bieber wig is due in tomorrow : /
